The Schneider Electric Paris Marathon signs with Netco Sports for a 4th consecutive year
In 2014, Netco Sports produced, for the fourth consecutive year, a comprehensive mobile app allowing fans across the world to connect with the race and its runners in a new an innovative way.
Since 2011, the app has been allowing athletes and spectators alike to follow runner’s progress along the grueling 42-kilometer course. With the Official Paris Marathon app runners are geolocated as they pass important checkpoints, allowing fans to engage and follow friends, family or favorite athletes.
In April of 2013, Scheider Electric signed as title sponsor of the French capitals’ annual marathon. The app was completely transformed by Netco Sports team of graphic designer’s, bringing maximum visibility to the new title sponsor by integrating a new color scheme and full app sponsorship visibility, all to ensure that Schneider Electric could maximize their return on sponsorship by leveraging the marathon’s already outstanding mobile product.
In 2014, race organizer Amaury Sport Organization (also producer of the Dakar Rally whose mobile solution has also been produced by Netco Sports since 2011) asked Netco Sports to revamp the app to make sure that fans across the world could continue to connect with the 35,000 athletes as they made their way through the winding streets of Paris.
