Tour De France gets a new app for its 2017 competition
The Tour de France is a is an annual multiple stage bicycle race primarily held in France. The race was first organized in 1903 and is now known as one of the most watched and publicized bike race in the world.
The new edition of the application Tour De France is now available on iOS and Android devices and makes it possible for users to find all the information about the competition in one single place. Here are some of the features users will be able to find in the app:
THE RIGHT INFORMATION AT THE RIGHT TIME
The app opens on a dynamic homepage that displays the most relevant data regarding the Tour’s news. Users will find information about the next stage, the current one or the one that has just been completed.
Among the available information, users will find the departure and arrival cities, the length of the stage, the route, elevation, profile, as well as tourist and historical details on the cities crossed or near the Tour. During the stages, users can view the position of the riders in real time in the Race Center.
The user can also go to a Tour’s passage point by using the time card and the “Getting there” button, which launches the creation of a route in the default navigation application on the device. Thanks to the tourism information, they will also be informed about the different points of interest nearby.
The general rankings are updated in real time. Thanks to the filters, it is possible to consult the statistics by stage, jersey, team or rider. Users can follow their favorite champions results and vote for them within the Social Ratings section.
The Medias tab contains all the articles, videos and photos related to the Tour. When they find an interesting content, they can also save it to view it later. A Chatbot also allows them to ask all questions they may have via a connection with their Messenger or Facebook accounts.
